Psychosocial Recovery Coaches work alongside people living with mental health challenges to design, plan and live a contributing life. Coaches bring either lived experience of mental health recovery or relevant clinical training, and focus on hope, empowerment and personal recovery goals.
Who it is for: NDIS participants with a psychosocial disability who would benefit from recovery-focused, relationship-based support to build skills, manage daily life and engage with services.
How it is funded: Funded under the Capacity Building — Support Coordination category in your NDIS plan, under the Recovery Coaching line item. There is no out-of-pocket cost to participants.
What to expect: Regular sessions — usually several hours per week — focused on your recovery goals, building daily living skills, coordinating with mental health services, and supporting you through setbacks. Coaches work with you, not just for you.
